UCA All-Americans: Clinton County Cheerleading Shines Bright

The Wilmington and Clinton-Massie cheerleading programs earned major recognition this month, with a combined 17 athletes receiving UCA All-America honors at summer cheer camps.

5 Wilmington Hurricane Named UCA All-Americans

The Wilmington cheer program sent athletes to the UCA Cheer Camp at Ohio Northern University, and five Hurricane cheerleaders earned UCA All-America honors: senior Alianna Nance, junior Lariyah Dalton, sophomore Reagan Angelica, senior Brooklynn Adams, and senior Mollie Edison. This recognition places them among the top cheer athletes in the country and reflects the strength of Wilmington's program. (Source: Wilmington News Journal)

12 Clinton-Massie Falcons Earn UCA All-America Honors

The Clinton-Massie cheerleading program also dominated at the UCA Cheer Camp held June 24-26 at Williamsburg High School. Honorees included seniors Grace Adams and Olivia Hudson; juniors Ava Davis, Lyla Davis, Aliah Dukenbaeva, Carly Hayes, and Ava Seewer; sophomores Aleeah Cameron and Evanne Noggle; and freshman Anslee Seewer. The Falcons have built a tradition of excellence in competitive cheerleading, and these honors continue that legacy. (Source: Wilmington News Journal)

These achievements are more than just individual honors. They reflect the dedication of the athletes, the coaching staff, and the booster clubs that provide the resources and support that make elite-level training possible. Congratulations to every athlete who earned this recognition.

Wilmington Hurricane Youth Soccer Camp Wraps Up a Strong Summer

On July 24, the Hurricane Youth Soccer Camp wrapped up a four-day session at Alumni Field, led by Wilmington High School boys and girls soccer players and coaches. The camp gave young athletes in grades K-8 the chance to develop skills, build confidence, and learn from the high school players they look up to.

Summer youth camps like this one are a vital part of the athletic pipeline in Clinton County. They introduce younger kids to the sport, build fundamental skills, and create connections between the high school program and the next generation of Hurricane athletes. The Wilmington Athletic Boosters play a key role in supporting these camps, funding equipment and field space that makes them possible.

For families who missed this session, Wilmington City Schools posts upcoming youth sports opportunities on their athletics summer camps page throughout the year.

Blanchester Wildcats: New Coaching Leadership, Strong Foundation

Blanchester athletics enters the 2026 season with renewed energy. Brayden Sipple, a 2021 Blanchester graduate and the Wildcats' all-time leading scorer with 2,485 career points, was named head boys basketball coach earlier this year. His return to the program he once led as a standout player is already generating excitement among Wildcat fans and alumni.

On the gridiron, Blanchester and East Clinton will face off in the season opener on August 21 in a rivalry game that kicks off both teams' seasons. It is a matchup that brings the entire community together and sets the tone for the year ahead.

The Athletic Boosters of Blanchester continue their work supporting student-athletes across all sports. For those interested in sponsorship or volunteer opportunities, contact them at info@blanathleticboosters.org or visit blanathleticboosters.org.

Why Your Support Matters More Than Ever This Fall

School athletic budgets have not kept pace with rising costs. From transportation for away games to safety equipment, uniforms, and facility maintenance, booster clubs fill a critical gap. Every dollar raised by a booster club directly impacts the student-athlete experience.

But the value of booster clubs goes beyond the financial. When a parent volunteers at the concession stand, a local business sponsors a team banner, or a grandparent buys a booster membership, it sends a powerful message: this community supports you. That sense of belonging is what makes Clinton County special.

For families considering a move to Wilmington or Clinton County, the strength of local athletic programs is often one of the deciding factors. It signals that the community values its young people and invests in their growth. That is exactly the kind of place where families want to put down roots.

5 Ways to Support Fall Sports Right Now

August is the busiest time of year for booster clubs. Here are five ways you can help right now:

  • Attend the August 14 "Meet the Team" event. Thursday, August 14, 4:00-5:00 PM at Wilmington High School. Meet athletes and coaches before the season begins.
  • Join a booster club. Memberships start at $50/year at Clinton-Massie. Most schools offer family, business, and individual membership options.
  • Volunteer at the concession stand on opening night. Every school needs volunteers for August 21. Contact your school's booster club to sign up.
  • Sponsor a team or event. Local business sponsorships are critical. Reach out to your school's athletic director or booster club president to learn about sponsorship levels.
  • Show up on game day. Nothing means more to a student-athlete than seeing their community in the stands. Bring your family, bring your neighbors, and cheer loud.
