Booster Club News: Mid-Summer 2026 Update
Summer sports camps are in full swing across Clinton County. Wilmington City Schools is hosting youth camps this week, Clinton-Massie boosters are gearing up for fall, and the community is rallying behind student-athletes as the 2026 school year approaches. Here is the latest on what is happening and how you can get involved.
Mid-July in Clinton County means one thing: fall sports are just around the corner. With summer conditioning programs already underway and youth sports camps filling the calendar, the athletic booster clubs at Clinton-Massie, Wilmington, Blanchester, and East Clinton are working hard to make sure every student-athlete has what they need to compete when the season starts.
Rooted in Wilmington, Glasshouse Realty proudly serves Clinton County and surrounding communities. We live here, our kids go to school here, and we believe in supporting the organizations that invest in our students. Here is the mid-summer update on booster club happenings across the county.
Wilmington Hurricane: Youth Camps Heating Up This Week
Wilmington City Schools is in the middle of a busy summer camp season. The Hurricane Golf Camp for grades 3-6 wrapped up July 7-9 at Wilmington Elks Golf Course, and multiple sports camps for students in grades 1-8 are running now through July 20-23 — this very week. These camps, organized through the Wilmington City Schools athletics summer camps page, give younger students a chance to develop skills and build excitement for joining Hurricane athletics down the road.
Hurricane Strength Program Underway
Pre-season conditioning for grades 8-12, led by Coach Chris Reynolds, continues through the summer. The program prepares student-athletes for the physical demands of fall sports and is a key part of what makes Wilmington athletics competitive year after year. Booster club support helps fund the equipment and coaching resources that make this program possible.
Looking ahead, the Wilmington High School Boosters Association will host its annual "Meet the Team" event on August 14 from 4:00-5:00 PM. It is a chance for families to connect with fall coaches, meet the athletes, and learn how to support the program throughout the season. Mark your calendars now.
The Wilmington Athletic Boosters also organize year-round fundraising and scholarship programs for graduating senior athletes. To get involved as a volunteer or sponsor, visit the Wilmington City Schools PTO and Boosters page.
Clinton-Massie Falcons: Building on a Championship Spring
The Falcons are coming off one of the strongest spring seasons in program history, and the Clinton-Massie Athletics Boosters are already looking ahead. The middle school girls track team captured the SBAAC Championship with 135 points and seven school records. High school girls track won the Miller-Shilke Invitational team title. Softball finished as OHSAA District Runner-Up. And baseball finished 17-11 with a second consecutive winning season.
Now the focus shifts to fall. The Falcons football team enters the 2026 season as defending SBAAC American Division champions after a 10-2 campaign in 2025 — the only Clinton County football team to make the postseason. Pre-season practices begin in just a few weeks, and the boosters are busy securing sponsorships and memberships to fund equipment, transportation, and facility improvements.
Four Quarter Drive — Track Expansion Project
The Clinton-Massie Boosters continue their "4 Quarter Drive" campaign to expand the track to eight lanes, which would allow the school to host revenue-generating track and field events. It is a major undertaking that will benefit Falcon athletes for years to come. Learn more and donate at cmathleticsboosters.org/4quartersdrive.
Booster memberships for the 2026-27 school year are available for $50, with higher-tier "Bench Booster" and "Starter" levels limited in number. Sponsorship packages for the upcoming year — including tee-box signage and banner placement — are also open. Visit the CM Boosters Zeffy page for details.
Blanchester Wildcats: Blue Tie Momentum Carries Into Summer
The Athletic Boosters of Blanchester held a highly successful Third Annual Blue Tie Event this past March, honoring Jamey Grogg, Tom Greve, Randy Binkley, and the late Jim Burroughs for their contributions to Wildcat athletics. The dinner and auction raised critical funds for Blanchester student-athletes and brought the community together in a big way.
This summer, booster leaders are planning for the 2026-27 school year. Blanchester's spring athletes put the Wildcats on the map — Casey Gilbert finished 9th in the state in the Division IV 300m hurdles, and softball standout Bailie Bare was named a finalist for the Cincinnati High School Sports Awards. With fall sports just weeks away, the boosters are actively seeking parent volunteers, community sponsors, and new members.

East Clinton Astros: Community Fundraising Continues
The East Clinton Athletic Boosters, led by President Lynette Gulley, continue their work supporting student-athletes at East Clinton High School. The boosters organize several community-focused fundraisers each year — including spaghetti dinners and golf outings — that help fund equipment, uniforms, and program needs.
East Clinton spring sports showed real fight in 2026. Baseball gave Miami Valley Christian Academy everything they could handle in the District Semi, falling 9-6. Tennis picked up the program's first SBAAC National Division league match win, 3-1 over Felicity. These are building blocks for a program on the rise, and booster support is essential to keeping that momentum alive.
Volunteers looking to get involved with East Clinton athletics can complete a Volunteer Release Form and background check through the district. Visit East Clinton Athletics for details and upcoming events.
Why Booster Clubs Matter More Than Ever
School budgets tighten every year, and the gap between what districts can provide and what athletic programs actually need keeps widening. That is where booster clubs step in. From new uniforms and safety equipment to transportation for away games and funding for facility upgrades, booster dollars make an outsized impact on the student-athlete experience.
But boosters are about more than money. They are about community. A parent working the concession stand, a local business sponsoring a golf outing tee box, a grandparent buying a booster membership — each contribution sends a message to every athlete that their community has their back. That is the kind of environment where kids thrive, both on and off the field.
For families considering a move to Clinton County, the strength of local athletic programs is often one of the deciding factors. It signals that the community values its young people, invests in their growth, and shows up to celebrate their achievements. That is exactly the kind of place where families put down roots.
Fall 2026 Sports Preview: What to Watch This Season
August practices are just a few weeks away. Here is a look at what to expect from each school this fall:
The Falcons enter as defending SBAAC American Division champions (10-2, 5-0 in 2025). With a strong returning core and booster-funded resources, expect another deep postseason run.
Wilmington finished 5-5 in 2025 and returns a young, hungry roster. Boys soccer was undefeated at home last season (9-0-3 overall) — watch for more of the same this fall. "Meet the Team" is August 14.
Blanchester football wrapped 2025 at 4-6 with a big 36-6 win over Clermont Northeastern. With continued booster support, the Wildcats are building depth across all fall programs.
Despite being one of the smaller schools in the SBAAC, East Clinton continues to develop competitive programs. Booster-led fundraisers make a real difference for Astro athletes.
6 Ways to Support Local Student-Athletes Right Now
Summer is the perfect time to get connected before the busy fall season begins. Here are six ways you can make a difference for Clinton County student-athletes today:
- Become a booster member for 2026-27. Clinton-Massie memberships start at $50/year. Blanchester, Wilmington, and East Clinton also have membership options. Every dollar goes to student-athletes.
- Sponsor the CM Boosters or Blanchester boosters. Local businesses can sponsor tee boxes, banners, and events. A small sponsorship goes a long way in covering team costs.

- Attend the Wilmington "Meet the Team" event. Thursday, August 14, 4:00-5:00 PM at Wilmington High School. A great way to connect with Hurricane athletes and coaches.
- Donate to the "4 Quarter Drive." The Clinton-Massie track expansion project will transform athletic facilities for generations of Falcon athletes.
- Spread the word on social media. Follow the boosters on Facebook and share their events with your network. Community awareness starts with you.
