Wilmington City School District serves the city of Wilmington and surrounding areas in Clinton County, including Port William, Martinsville, and the townships of Union, Liberty, Clark, Washington, Green, and Wilson. The district operates four schools: Holmes Elementary (Preschool–2nd), Denver Place Elementary (3rd–5th), Wilmington Middle School (6th–8th), and Wilmington High School (9th–12th).
