Just minutes from Wilmington, Cowan Lake State Park centers around a 700-acre lake surrounded by lush forest. It's one of the region's best outdoor destinations — offering over eight miles of hiking trails, 254 electric campsites, 21 cabins, boating, fishing, sailing, and paddling.
A quieter state park centered on a 200-acre lake restricted to electric motors — perfect for peaceful fishing and paddling. Features 114 campsites, seven miles of hiking trails, a 500-foot swimming beach, and a disc golf course.
