Week 5 Results, Homecoming Fever & the County Game of the Week

Week 5 of the 2026 season is in the books, and it sets up one of the biggest Friday nights of the fall. Wilmington fell 18-13 to Chillicothe at Alumni Field in a back-and-forth game, Clinton-Massie won 34-6 at Monroe, Goshen topped Blanchester 57-24, and Gamble Montessori edged East Clinton 24-7. Now homecoming week arrives: Wilmington hosts Western Brown, Clinton-Massie welcomes New Richmond, and Blanchester hosts East Clinton in the county showdown.

Homecoming week at a small-town Ohio high school on a crisp late September evening: string lights glowing over the stands and a crepe-paper parade float on the track, the marching band near the sideline, cheerleaders with pom-poms, and booster-club parents at a concession stand under the deepening navy dusk sky

The Friday night lights burned bright across Clinton County again. Chillicothe's ground game rolled up 267 rushing yards and three touchdowns in a tight game that saw three lead changes, and the Hurricane could not quite close the gap in the final minutes. Clinton-Massie kept its winning momentum rolling with a 34-6 victory on the road, while Blanchester and East Clinton both took tough results that they can leave behind with a rivalry game on Friday.

Rooted in Wilmington, Glasshouse Realty proudly serves Clinton County and surrounding communities. Homecoming Week Has Arrived: Parades, Pep Rallies & the Chili Supper

This is the week every booster club plans for. Two homecoming celebrations, one county rivalry, and more volunteers needed than any other Friday of the season. Here is what the official school and district sources have announced:

Wilmington Hurricane: Homecoming at Alumni Field

Homecoming week at Wilmington City Schools peaks Thursday evening with the homecoming parade and a community pep rally at Alumni Field, ahead of Friday's game against Western Brown. The official district homecoming announcement lists the parade route and start time; school-community members are encouraged to line the route and then walk over for the pep rally. The annual Wilmington High School Band Chili Supper also returns before Friday's kickoff: tickets are $8 at the door, from a band member, or online at wilmingtonbands.ludus.com, and every plate funds the band program.

Clinton-Massie Falcons: Homecoming in Clarksville

Clinton-Massie celebrates homecoming Friday night when New Richmond visits, with the homecoming parade rolling through campus Thursday and the game at 7:00 PM. The Wilmington News Journal's homecoming coverage shows how the Falcons community turns out: parade floats, the marching band, and a packed stadium. The Clinton-Massie Athletics Boosters run the concession stand for what should be the biggest home crowd of the season.

Friday Night Preview: Homecoming on Both Ends & a County Showdown

Friday, September 25 stacks up as one of the season's best nights: two homecoming games and a Clinton County rivalry all at 7:00 PM. Here is the full board:

Wilmington Hurricane vs. Western Brown (Homecoming)

Home at Alumni Field • 7:00 PM

Homecoming night is the Hurricane's biggest crowd of the year, and the Wilmington Hurricane Boosters Association is the volunteer engine behind it: concession shifts, parking and gate help, and homecoming festivities all need hands. Athletic season passes for 2026-27 remain on sale, and the band chili supper starts the evening before kickoff. (Source: MaxPreps Wilmington)

Clinton-Massie Falcons vs. New Richmond (Homecoming)

Home • 7:00 PM

Coming off the 34-6 road win at Monroe, the Falcons celebrate homecoming against New Richmond. Booster Clubs in Action: Where Your Support Goes This Fall

While the players are on the field, the boosters are working behind the scenes to make it all happen. Here is a snapshot of what each organization is focused on as the season rolls into October:

Clinton-Massie Athletics Boosters

The "4 Quarter Drive" capital campaign to expand the track to eight lanes and replace the aging turf field continues, and every donation is tax-deductible through the group's 501(c)(3) status. Annual memberships start at $50, corporate sponsorship packages are still open, and the boosters are staffing the biggest home game of the season Friday. Explore cmathleticsboosters.org, join as a member, or give directly to the turf replacement fund.

East Clinton Athletic Boosters

Volunteer sign-ups are open for concessions, field crew help, and team meal coordination as the Astros hit the road Friday. On the fundraiser calendar: a spaghetti dinner, the football and basketball golf outing, and a baseball golf outing held at Elks 797 Golf Course, all planned for later this fall. The boosters also recently helped fund a $5,000 volleyball program project. See the East Clinton Athletics booster page for dates and sign-ups.

Wilmington Hurricane Boosters Association

The boosters describe their mission simply: supporting Hurricane student-athletes, including scholarships, through concession sales, memberships, and season passes. Homecoming night is the season's biggest volunteer lift, so concession help and event volunteers are especially welcome. Visit the Wilmington High School Boosters page for how to help.

Athletic Boosters of Blanchester

Membership renewals for 2026-27 are open at $50 per year, and the club is gearing up for the home stretch at Barbour Memorial Field starting with Friday's rivalry game. Look for home-game fundraisers through the rest of the season, and mark your calendar: the annual Blue Tie Event returns in the spring to honor Wildcat coaching legends. Visit blanathleticboosters.org for membership and volunteer details.

Clinton-Massie Band Boosters

The marching band is the heartbeat of Friday nights, and homecoming is its busiest week of the fall: the parade Thursday and the game Friday, followed by a busy competition season. The band boosters support uniforms, instruments, and travel. Visit the Clinton-Massie Band Boosters page for meeting dates and how to get involved.

This Week in Fall Sports: Beyond Friday Night

Football gets the spotlight, but Clinton County programs across the fall sports calendar are putting together strong weeks:

Volleyball: Clinton-Massie Finds Its Stride

Clinton-Massie varsity volleyball snapped a four-match skid with a 3-0 sweep of Bethel-Tate last week, winning 25-15, 25-21, and 25-15. It is the kind of momentum win the Falcons can build on heading into the league stretch. (Source: Wilmington News Journal)

Volleyball: East Clinton Stays Near the Top

East Clinton's fast start has it holding a spot near the top of its division standings, and the Astros keep playing a demanding league schedule as October approaches. (Source: MaxPreps East Clinton)

Middle School Volleyball: A Split with Fairfield

Clinton-Massie middle school volleyball split a home-and-away set with Fairfield late last week, with the eighth-grade team taking its match 26-24 and 25-18. The feeder programs are a big reason the varsity pipeline stays strong. (Source: Wilmington News Journal)

Soccer, Golf & Cross Country: League Races Tighten

Soccer programs across the county are deep into league play, golf teams are positioning for their conference finals, and cross country runners keep building toward championship season in October. Check each school's athletic schedule page for the latest match times and locations.

A note on schedules

High school schedules do change. Weather, reschedules, and late-season moves happen, so the confirmed source is always the school, the district, or the athletic department itself. Check the official schedule pages linked above before you load up the car.

Why Your Support Matters: Every Dollar Stays Local

When you buy a bowl of chili before kickoff, sign up for a booster membership, or volunteer at the concession stand, the money and the time stay right here in Clinton County. They become new uniforms for the marching band, turf repair and track resurfacing at Clinton-Massie, team meals for the Astros, and scholarships for Hurricane student-athletes. The "4 Quarter Drive" is a perfect example: every tax-deductible donation goes directly toward facilities that every Falcon athlete will use for years.

This is what community looks like. It is parents behind the concession window on homecoming night, local businesses sponsoring a program, and families showing up to cheer for kids who wear the same school colors. A rivalry game, two homecomings, and a community that always shows up, that is Clinton County in the fall.

Support Clinton County Student-Athletes This Homecoming Weekend

Whether you buy a band chili ticket, sign up for a booster membership, volunteer a shift, or just show up Friday night with the family, your support makes a difference. Clinton County's student-athletes are counting on their community, and the community always shows up.

And when you are ready to buy, sell, or invest in a home in Wilmington or anywhere in Clinton County, Glasshouse Realty is here to help. Our team knows these neighborhoods, these schools, and these communities because we live here too.
