Week 4 Results & a Big Homecoming-Week Preview
Clinton-Massie took the county's biggest prize of the season so far, topping Blanchester 40-18 in the 56th meeting of the rivalry, while Wilmington rolled past Ross 34-14 and East Clinton fell at home to Greenfield McClain. Now the focus shifts to September 18, when Wilmington hosts Chillicothe in its September home opener, Clinton-Massie travels to Monroe, and Blanchester welcomes Goshen.
Week 4 belonged to the Clinton-Massie Falcons. After falling behind 12-7 in the second quarter, they pulled away to beat Blanchester 40-18 in a rivalry game that drew one of the biggest crowds of the season. Wilmington stayed on track with a convincing road win, and East Clinton kept fighting despite a tough result. The season is now a third of the way through, and every game from here carries a little more weight.

Booster Clubs in Action: How You Can Help This Fall
While the players are on the field, the boosters are working behind the scenes to make it all happen. Here is a snapshot of what each organization is focused on as the season heads into October:
The "4 Quarter Drive" capital campaign to expand the track to eight lanes (so the school can host meets) and replace the aging turf field continues. Annual memberships start at $50 per year, corporate sponsorships are still open, and thanks to the organization's 501(c)(3) status, donations are tax-deductible. Check cmathleticsboosters.org for membership, sponsorship, and volunteer sign-ups.
With the team's only September home game coming up Friday, the boosters are preparing concessions and recruiting volunteers for a packed night at Alumni Field. Athletic season passes for 2026-27 remain on sale, and every purchase directly supports Hurricane athletics. Reach out through the Wilmington City Schools PTO and Boosters page.
Membership renewals for 2026-27 are open at $50 per year, fall sponsorship packages are available for local businesses, and the club is gearing up game-day operations for the home schedule ahead. Look for upcoming home-game fundraisers, including spaghetti dinners and a golf outing later in the season. Visit blanathleticboosters.org or reach out at info@blanathleticboosters.org for details.
Boosters president Lynette Gulley and the team continue organizing volunteer sign-ups and fundraising. Concession stand volunteers, field crew help, and team meal coordinators are all needed, and the club has a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser, a Football/Basketball Golf Outing, and a Baseball Golf Outing on its roster for later this fall. Learn more at East Clinton Athletics.
The marching band remains a fixture of Falcon Friday nights, and the band boosters support uniforms, instruments, and travel. With homecoming season approaching, the band boosters are looking for volunteers. Visit the Clinton-Massie Band Boosters page for meeting dates and how to get involved.
This Week in Fall Sports: Beyond Friday Night
Friday night football is the main event, but several Clinton County programs delivered strong results across the past week:
East Clinton swept Blanchester 3-0 on September 10 for its third straight win, then beat Whiteoak 3-0 on September 14 to move to 8-2 overall and 6-1 in league play, tied for first in its division. The Astros are proving to be one of the county's toughest volleyball teams. (Source: MaxPreps East Clinton)
Clinton-Massie picked up a 3-0 win over Waynesville on September 12, while Blanchester continued to battle through a tough stretch in the league standings. Wilmington remains in the mix as conference play heats up across the county. (Source: MaxPreps Clinton-Massie)
Girls soccer league play remains competitive across the county, with Clinton-Massie and Wilmington trading results and Blanchester picking up wins against league opponents. Boys soccer continues building toward its postseason push. Check each school's athletic schedule for the latest match times and locations.
Clinton-Massie's golf teams made a strong season opening, and cross country runners across the county keep building base times ahead of championship season in October. Conference tournaments and league finals are just a few weeks away for both sports.

Why Your Support Matters: Every Dollar Stays Local
When you buy a hot dog at the concession stand, purchase a booster membership, or sponsor a team, the money does not disappear into a central office. It stays right here in Clinton County. It buys new uniforms for the marching band. It funds track resurfacing and turf replacement. It pays for team meals, equipment upgrades, and senior scholarships.
The Clinton-Massie Athletics Boosters "4 Quarter Drive" capital campaign is a perfect example. Every dollar raised goes directly toward expanding the track to eight lanes so the school can host meets and toward replacing aging turf, facilities that every Falcon athlete will benefit from for years to come. Thanks to the organization's 501(c)(3) status, donations are tax-deductible.
This is what community looks like. It is parents working the concession stand after a long day at work. It is local businesses buying ads in game programs. It is families showing up on a Friday night to cheer for kids they have never met, because those kids wear the same school colors. A rivalry game, a home opener, and a community that always shows up, that is Clinton County in the fall.
