Week 11: Wilmington Advances and Heads to Cincinnati Friday Night

The Wilmington Hurricane opened the OHSAA playoffs with a 34-26 win over New Richmond Friday, Oct 30 at Alumni Field, and now travel to Cincinnati for a Division IV Region 16 regional quarterfinal against No. 3 Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy on Friday, Nov 6 at 7:00 PM. The Clinton-Massie Falcons saw their season end 42-3 at No. 5 Urbana the same night, Blanchester girls soccer played in its first district championship Oct 29, and the county cross country season closed at the regional meet in Troy. This week also brings the start of winter sports practice and two Veterans Day ceremonies on Wednesday, Nov 11.

The weekly overview: one Clinton County football team is still alive in the state playoffs, the fall tournament run wrapped up across girls soccer and cross country, and the winter sports season starts this week. Wilmington's 34-26 first-round win earned the program a road date with the region's No. 3 seed. Clinton-Massie closed its season at 3-8. Blanchester girls finished 13-4-2 after the deepest tournament run in program history. Cross country ended Saturday in Troy. And on the school calendar, the OHSAA boys basketball coaching season opens Friday, Nov 6, with the regular season beginning Nov 30, so this week is tryouts, practices, and scrimmages across the county.

Community: Two Veterans Day Ceremonies Wednesday, Nov 11

Clinton County pauses Wednesday, Nov 11 to honor veterans, with two community ceremonies in Wilmington. Booster Clubs in Action: How to Help This Week

With the Hurricane on the road this week and winter sports just starting, the county's booster clubs are coordinating travel support, memberships, and the campaigns that fund Clinton County athletics all year. Here is where each organization stands:

Wilmington Hurricane Boosters Association

The Hurricane play on the road Friday at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy, so there is no home concessions night this week, but the boosters continue to support every Wilmington student-athlete through memberships, season passes, concessions, and scholarships, all coordinated through the Wilmington Athletic Department. The district's booster page lists how to join and volunteer. Visit the Wilmington High School Boosters page for details.

Clinton-Massie Athletics Boosters

The "4 Quarter Drive" capital campaign continues toward its $460,000 goal for field turf replacement at the Falcon stadium, with roughly $68,550 raised as of early October per the club's Zeffy fundraising page, and the companion project to expand the track to eight lanes remains part of the drive. The 2026-27 annual membership is open at $50, and corporate sponsorship packages are available. Explore cmathleticsboosters.org, join as a member, or give to the turf replacement fund.

Athletic Boosters of Blanchester

The club, organized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, keeps its 2026-27 membership open year-round and coordinates concession volunteers and scholarships for graduating senior athletes. Its flagship fundraiser, the Blue Tie Event honoring Wildcat athletic legends, is a spring tradition. Visit blanathleticboosters.org for membership and volunteer details.

East Clinton Athletic Boosters

With football season over, the Astro boosters turn toward winter sports support and the recurring fundraisers that fund the year, including the football and basketball golf outing, an annual spaghetti dinner, a baseball golf outing, and volleyball fundraisers. Dates for the 2026-27 school year are posted on the official East Clinton athletics booster page as events are finalized. See the East Clinton Athletics booster page for dates and sign-ups.

Compliance note: All fundraisers featured above are organized by independent, school-affiliated booster and band organizations. Glasshouse Realty does not operate these fundraisers and receives no proceeds from them; ticket and donation details come from each group's official pages. Fundraisers with incentives or affiliated vendors should be reviewed for compliance before promotion.

Why Your Support Matters: Every Dollar Stays Local

When you renew a booster membership, buy a playoff ticket, or take a shift behind the concession window, the money and the time stay right here in Clinton County. They become field turf and track work at Clinton-Massie, uniforms and equipment for every Hurricane team, and team meals and scholarships for Falcon, Wildcat, and Astro student-athletes. The "4 Quarter Drive" is a good example: every tax-deductible donation goes toward facilities that every Falcon athlete will use for years.

This is what community looks like in early November: a busload of Hurricanes headed to Cincinnati for a playoff night, a Wildcat girls soccer team that made school history, a gym floor getting its first winter practice, and a courthouse square full of flags on Veterans Day. Rooted in Wilmington, Glasshouse Realty proudly serves Clinton County and surrounding communities.
